William Shakespeare’s pastoral comedy As You Like It is a frothy meditation on love, betrayal and redemption.

Half the characters in the play are banished to the lush Arden Forest. The other half go in search of them so there’s a great deal of merry nonsense in that mini Garden of Eden.

What can I say?

I find Adam Sandler funny.

Well at least 80% of the time. There was that Little Nicky fiasco.

Sandler’s comedy I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry is pure guilty pleasure.

I wanted to like Hairspray far more than I did.

That’s not to say I didn’t have a fun time, just that it isn’t nearly as outrageous and silly as the material cries out to be.

In Australia where Introducing the Dwights was made, it was called Clubland.

As Shakespeare would have said, a rose by any name would smell as sweet and boy is this one sweetheart of a movie.
